“...driving up to our building on Clay Street, I can see the drug deals openly taking place during the day. As I get out to walk into the building, I notice that the drug dealers aren't concerned about my presence, about being arrested, or about those they kill. Their only concern is making money. My resolve to help this community is strengthened!...”
– Pastor Willard D. DeArmond, President & CEO, New Covenant Temple Cultural Community Center
New Covenant Temple Cultural Community Center [NCTCCC] is a 501c3 organizaton whose mission is to positively impact the lives of the economically disadvantaged population on Springfield, Ohio's South Side. Our current focus areas are: sobriety, nutrition, and medical assistance.
Our target population is a predominately urban population that lives well below established government poverty levels; characterized by: 1) One of the lowest percapita income rates in The State of Ohio. Their Adjusted Gross Income is $35,000 below the state average; 2) A high unemployment rate of 18.1%, well above Ohio's state average of 8%. These statistics paint the economic picture our target population faces. This reality leaves most unable to support their households. Further complicating matters, it is an area that has seen a dramatic increase in drug addiction!
